I've never been sure 
Deadly scared of being wrong
Like singing loud the wrong lyrics
Of a well known song. 
I've never dug deep
Never took serious effort to learn
If dedication was a ball
In a game of catch
It's never been my turn. 
I've never been proud
Of my chosen ignorance 
Like switching off the TV 
On the news of great importance. 
I've refused to open my eyes
I've refused to blindly believe
Like never taking a dive
And barely ever dipping my feet.
